My mission is to bring awareness to the seriousness of skin cancer. This cancer is so misunderstood.

Going through my first diagnosis was traumatic. There were a lot of unknowns and fear about what I would be going through. I felt very alone. Even though I had the support of my family, they could not relate to my experience. I learned about many support groups that would help me understand more about my diagnosis and how to live my new life.

Having to deal with a second diagnosis has been a definite struggle. I felt like my world fell apart. I was in disbelief that in just a couple of months I would be going through another surgery and a year of treatment. I was heartbroken.

I found inside myself a strength to not only go through this challenge, but to start a way to support and empower others going through their struggles in life. I have made the changes in my life to live my best life now. To be an example of how to overcome adversity. Too many people get stuck and miss out on so many opportunities in life. Be your own advocate. Ask lots of questions. I encourage you to find support and do what you can to take care of yourself. Keep your faith.
